About the job

THE ROLE & WHY IT EXISTS is taking APIs to the next level — we are the premier, open source API platform and we want everyone to know how amazing our software is. We are looking for an individual who is passionate about data and driven to spur continuous awareness of a deep-technology product. We recognize the value of an enthusiastic and energetic individual who is excited about interacting with developer communities on a daily basis. This is where you come in.
We are currently recruiting for a Developer Advocate to join our growing Developer Relations team. For this hands-on role, we need a dynamo of energy and ideas. Putting yourself in the shoes of a developer, you will interact with them across the globe through articles and blog posts, at virtual and in person events, as well as reaching out to our community through different channels. Being the developer’s champion, you will listen to them and bring their feedback back to the organisation so that we can continue to make a world-beating API management ecosystem. You will join us in our goal to spread the awareness of Gravitee, and how the unique offerings of our open source platform will help developers to solve their problems and pain points.
We are expanding internationally from our bases in London and France to serve the needs of our large global clients who are predominantly in banking, healthcare, insurance, and more. Gravitee is the natural force of connection within the API space — join and connect with your ideal opportunity.

Your daily to-do list will feature some or all of the following, but is not limited to:
Drive developer discussion forums and address any points raised in these forums
Advocate for developers internally and influence Gravitee product strategy by working with cross-functional teams
Understand the communities where developers congregate and come up with creative strategies to align Gravitee as a solution to their pain points
Plan and run events for our developer community
Build and drive community related content such as workshops, hackathons and demonstrations

The right candidate will possess at least the following skills, if not more:
Proven track record of building engagement amongst open-source developer communities
Demonstrable experience in presenting at events and writing blog posts
Experienced developer background in at least one popular language (e.g. Java, JavaScript, Python, etc.)
Believe in the Open Source ethos
Experience working in the technology sector, with API management a nice to have
Excellent communication and influencing skills
Entrepreneurial mindset
Insightful, creative & agile in your approach

A bringer of energy — someone who is genuinely energetic, friendly, and who will add to Gravitee’s vibrant company culture
Passionate and truly motivated about everything in life, not just work
Someone with a sense of urgency and follow-through
A person who excels working in a fast-paced, agile startup environment
Naturally customer-focused and has a customer-first mentality
Respectful, courteous, harmonious, polite, and conscientious

Market-competitive salary
25 days’ holiday
Statutory pension
Ability to work for one of the fastest growing companies and alongside some of the most talented people in the API technology sector
Gravitee is a remote-first (work from home) culture with options to work in-office
Team outings.
Lots of soft benefits (e.g., time off to celebrate your birthday, ‘health days’, annual eye test, lunches, etc.)
A meaningful, progressive, global company culture that is as fun as it is hardworking
Endless growth opportunities
And more!
