Head of Global Developer Engagement at QuickBooks
Come to join Intuit Small Business and Self-Employed Group’s Developers & Partners team as the Head of Global Developer Evangelism for the QuickBooks platform.
To fulfill Intuit’s mission of enabling prosperity for small businesses, self-employed, and consumers around the world, our role is to work with 3rd party developers and partners of all sizes to create integrated solutions to enable customers to connect their data and automate work.
Our team is responsible for all aspects of the Developers and Partners experience, including the tools, API’s, Developer portal, as well as the way that customers find and connect to apps.
Intuit is actively seeking a Developer Evangelist to be part of the developer relations team, recruiting, inspiring, and enabling developers to solve big problems for small businesses by building app integrations with the QuickBooks platform. This position requires a blend of strong technical skills coupled with content development, presentation, and customer-facing skills. This individual will have a passion for technology and sharing it with other inventors, creators, and app developers – both inside and outside the company.

To be successful in this role, you need:
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. You have created and delivered engaging technical presentations and are comfortable with (and enjoy) public speaking.
Attract, develop and grow top talent and enable employees to do the best work of their lives.
Proven history of creating impactful technical content for blogs, forums, social channels, etc. The desired candidate will be able to communicate technical concepts clearly and effectively to different audiences.
Able to demonstrate solid knowledge of XML (experience using server-to-server web services such as SOAP or REST preferred).
Strong ability to collaborate and partner with other functional teams and in International markets to achieve common goals.
Well connected within the developer community with contacts across various 3rd party partners
Able to travel to our developer communities live while remaining productive and professional while on the road.
Able to work irregular hours and some weekends to support hackathons, conferences, user groups, and other developer events.
Education and experience:
BA/BS in Computer Science or a similar technical degree preferred.
5 years or more of work experience that supports the goals and requirements of this role.
How you will lead
This diverse role includes a variety of responsibilities, all focused on growing the Intuit developer community and the QuickBooks app ecosystem. The Developer Evangelist inspires and educates developers around the world to solve problems for accountants and small businesses by integrating apps and technologies with the QuickBooks platform.
In this role you will:
Strategy & Leadership
Lead the development of 3 & 1 year strategic vision and clear, measurable goals for developer relations in collaboration with product teams and cross-functional leads across the business
Understand developer needs from research and developer insights to drive the developer relations strategy
Help ISVs understand how to exploit the potential of the QB platform to maximize the commercial potential of their products built on or connected to our platform
Take a data-driven approach in defining developer relations success metrics and prioritizing work so that progress can be clearly measured and communicated to stakeholders
Collaborate closely with marketing to establish a “bottoms up” go-to-market motion to win developer mindshare & position Intuit as a tech-forward company that developers aspire to work with
Advocate for the needs of developers through leadership, support, training and engagement of internal stakeholders
Grow and lead an effective developer relations team to execute the strategy
Education & Advocacy
Author developer-focused content in collaboration with marketing which can include but is not limited to technical blogs, white papers, videos and podcasts.
Educate developers about products through webinars, tutorials, and how to guides among other approaches.
Orchestrate the company presence at events, including speaking, sponsoring and exhibiting at both large conferences and smaller scale events.
Engage with and activate the developer community across GitHub, Twitter, Stack Overflow and other relevant channels
Be an advocate for our developers by surfacing feedback and insights to appropriate teams
Demonstrate a customer centric approach by being a champion for the developer experience and deep developer empathy
Constantly engage with the Developer community to provide proofpoints that demonstrate Intuit’s commitment to this space.
Lead the Developer Council and lead the agenda / facilitate the sessions
Identify and drive developer experience initiatives, covering Open API standards, documentation, sample code, SDKS and tools
Initiate a strategy to build developer experiences that can grow in a sustainable manner and accommodate technical changes to the platform.
Establish standards to engage the developer community around open source developer tools
Support the Intuit developer community wherever they are -- on forums, on social media, at conferences, meetups, hackathons, etc.
