Founding Community Manager / Developer Advocate at Grouparoo
As our first community hire, you will be responsible for building and nurturing a growing group of developers and marketers working with the Grouparoo platform.
We are seeking a teammate energized by connecting people to create and manage a wide variety of community programs and channels. You will create written content and videos, source and amplify user-generated content, host events, acquire ambassadors, and engage with partners all while ensuring ongoing high engagement and value for each community member. You will serve as the face of our product to our current and future users.
Most of all, you will test, learn, and teach the best ways to accomplish ambitious community growth/engagement goals you will set for yourself and the company.
We are an open source company that values transparency, so let’s talk about the details. This role reports to the CEO. The salary range for this role is $100K-110K/yr. The equity range (stock options) is between 0.7%-1.0%. Grouparoo’s core hours are between 9am and noon Pacific time, but our distributed team members can be located anywhere in the USA (US work authorization required).
Build and implement an ambitious strategy to maintain a highly-engaged and loyal Grouparoo community of engineers and other technical users.
Engage in Grouparoo-owned and external channels, providing value concerning general growth/data/product space as well as about Grouparoo specifically.
Be responsible for a wide variety of community and content initiatives: social, email, newsletters, videos, case studies, user groups, workshops, forums, meetups, tactical PR activities, newsletter, etc.
Write code as required to support content efforts including demos and integrations showcasing how the Grouparoo product fits into existing ecosystems and workflows.
Be the “voice of the developer” in both external and internal roadmap prioritization conversations.
Use a data driven approach to uncover top use cases and patterns within the Grouparoo developer community.
Seek out an understanding of the friction points getting in users’ way and work with the product team to remove them.
Represent Grouparoo in the developer community and help to build a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive community environment for members from a variety of backgrounds
What sets you up for success? You…
Have 3-5+ years of proven experience driving excellence as a community manager or developer relations.
Enjoy creating quality content in a variety of formats.
Have built a vibrant community for yourself or a company previously, and come with tactical ideas on how to do the same for Grouparoo.
Understand and have the ability to track and drive community metrics.
Will get your hands dirty in order to ensure an engaged community and deliver results.
Have an understanding for the mechanics involved when synchronizing data from databases to SaaS platforms via APIs.
Possess a strong sense of ownership and a "can-do" attitude with a willingness to adapt as more is learned.
Want to own the community efforts and voice of a growing open source data tool.
Have experience working on fully remote teams, or have a desire to do so.
