Director of Developer Relations at Amazon
Amazon Entertainment, Devices and Services (EDS) is looking for a world-class developer marketing and technology professional to lead our developer program. There are over # Amazon EDS devices – Fire TV streaming media players, Fire TV Edition smart TVs, and fire tablets -- available worldwide supporting a developer ecosystem in the [tens of thousands]. The availability of developer apps and content and their integration of key device features, like voice, make EDS devices some of the highest rated Amazon offers customers. The Content & App Partner Engagement (CAPE) team ensures developers throughout the world continue to support and thrive on Amazon entertainment devices.
As the leader of the CAPE developer marketing and technical evangelism team, you will own depth and breadth programs to engage app developers and content providers, with leaders on your team responsible for developer marketing, evangelism, solution architecture, training, and technical documentation. You will own the business strategy and oversee the execution of programs that drive thought leadership and technology adoption, engagement and advocacy. Your key areas of responsibility will include developer marketing across a portfolio of devices and new initiatives, field enablement, developer advocacy, strategic communications, curriculum and training, website and technical documentation, and events. Your responsibilities will include hiring and developing senior professionals to lead teams who are responsible for establishing and managing critical business relationships for EDS.
You’ll be a leader of leaders. You’ll manage a 30+ person team across program management, solution architecture, evangelism, and technical writing and be a key contributor to product, engineering, marketing and business leaders in EDS. You will enable and coach them on best practices, technical customer relationship management, and the technical communication skills necessary to create and present architectures of widely varying size and complexity. You will ensure the teams maintains knowledge authority in their respective areas of depth. Your employees will be located in various locations, and you will work closely with international leads to develop effective global strategy.
You and your team will be the "face of Amazon" for EDS and work with marquee brands to deliver incredible experiences. In this capacity, you will drive discussions with senior technical leaders, marketers, and CxOs in Fortune 500 organizations, top startups, and more. You will also be responsible for the marketing and evangelism strategy to engage external developers and customers, driving feature and technology adoption at scale. You will work with internal stakeholders to establish business priorities, set ambitious business goals and develop strategies to meet or exceed those goals.
· Bachelor’s degree
· 10 years of experience in technology product or marketing, or developer evangelism
· Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
· Technical product or engineering experience, or experience leading technical teams
· Proven success managing complex, ambiguous and multi-faceted marketing programs with the ability to drive projects through completion
· Demonstrated ability to lead teams of 30 or more people
· Demonstrated ability to earn trust with both internal peers and external partners
· Proven ability to drive feature and technology adoption among developers
· Passion for Amazon’s leadership principles
