Director of Developer Community at Cisco
The Director of Developer Community will be responsible for defining a vision, strategy, and programmatic approach to exponentially grow our Community with our target audiences.
Develop and oversee execution for Community program and marketing strategy including influencer, thought leadership, events, business units and partners across owned, earned, paid, and shared channels.
Define the key success metrics for our Community and Influencer initiatives and drive data-driven prioritization decisions
Identify new technologies, and leading developer trends that will create opportunity and demand for our products and services.
Identify and oversee execution of community growth opportunities by partnering with teams across the organization to develop programs, campaigns, new partnerships, content, and more
Partner with Research and Insights to develop an ongoing community research program, making community feedback integral to marketing campaigns and product development.
Collaborate with product and engineering teams in defining roadmap and prioritizing the needs of our developers.
Open new channels and optimize existing relationships with relevant publishers, influencers, and partners to drive Community growth.
Work with cross-functional teams to create and deliver highly relevant quality content to support campaigns in achieving campaign goals””
Partner with marketing analytics and web to define programmatic and scalable approaches to continually optimize for maximum traffic and engagement, and to collect feedback from our audiences that measure attraction, engagement, and satisfaction
Partner across the organization to support regular engagement campaigns, drive organic social campaigns to achieve maximum engagement with content and events created by your team, manage subscriber communications at each stage of the Community journey, work towards effective marketing automation/personalization at scale.
Partner across teams to bring high quality, impactful content to life across channels and formats that drive key Community metrics.
Use experiments and tests to make data-driven decisions on content format, topic selection, content design, and delivery.
Communicate internally with Product Managers and Software Engineers to advocate for product direction based on your team’s interactions with our developers.
Be a strong internal owner and advocate for Community health and growth – keeping a constant pulse on our audience motivations and needs.
10+ years of relevant developer marketing experience in the B2B and/or B2D technology space; 10+ years of developer community
Consistent track record defining and executing global developer marketing programs that drive key outcomes such as developer attraction, engagement, and developer satisfaction
Proven understanding of the needs of the developer audience across a range of companies, from startup to enterprise as well as consulting/integration providers
Experience developing messaging and writing compelling copy
Track record of creating engaging digital, community, and event communications and experiences
Evidence of building marketing programs from the ground up, continuously iterating, and designing for scale
Proven familiarity with marketing APIs and webhooks, AWS/Azure Deployment, Docker, Kubernetes, or web technologies.
Ability to influence and lead cross-functional teams, and champion new concepts and ideas
