Developer Advocate at Velocity

We’re looking for a developer advocate, who will be the face of Velocity. This role is incredibly external-facing - yet one that also has an internal, business-critical impact.

Velocity is in pursuit of helping companies increase their feature to market speed. Our solution focuses on tools that allow developers to create and use their on-demand, fully isolated production-like environments during development in the same ease they create Git branches.

We’re looking for a developer advocate, who will be the face of Velocity. This role is incredibly external-facing - yet one that also has an internal, business-critical impact.

You will have individual accountability and complete support over establishing the short-term tactics and long-term strategy for Developer Relations and focus on building credibility, influence, and trust within the developer community to drive product adoption and roadmap.


Responsibilities:
Strengthen Velocity’s relationship with developers. Become a crucial part of advocating Velocity’s mission and story.
Present in webinars and other public events to evangelize our product capabilities and value.
Build, widen, and manage community channels to encourage more community engagement with the intention of driving stronger product understanding, awareness, and education.
Create industry-related content in a wide variety of formats (blog posts, tutorials, guides, live streams, code examples, etc.)
Work with engineering and product on POCs, onboarding, and special technical projects for strategic customers.
Bring feedback from customers and the developer community through surveys, meetups, and other engagement methods to influence and drive product growth and strategy.
Work with marketing to help build effective messaging and amplify the message.


Basic Qualifications:
You are a developer. And "developer" to us is someone who solves problems with code. You need 3+ years of experience building applications (plus for cloud-native applications). Knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, Golang, React is a plus
The ability to learn quickly and keep up to date with the latest changes in the industry.
Able to express complex concepts in compelling language to resonate with developers and non-technical communities
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, and preferably a fluency in English.
Experience participating in technical/developer communities, open-source projects, and other developer community groups.
Great presentation skills to have instant credibility with technical audiences


Advantages:
Proficient in creating DevRel content (videos, blogs, docs, dev demos).
3+ years experience as part of Developer Relations team or a similar role (product evangelist, technical product marketing, technical pre-sales etc)
You genuinely care about the wider developer community and about empowering them to build their best with our support.
