Developer Advocate/Evangelist at Dolby

A Developer Advocate for Dolby will join a creative, experienced, and high-energy organization responsible for the growth and adoption of APIs. To drive grass-roots attention and preference for you will bring flexibility, speed, and enthusiasm to those in broader developer communities.

Ideally, you’re someone who comes from a software and/or audio background, but has a drive to be on stage guiding the broader industry towards a technology you firmly believe in. You will nurture credibility with developers, startups, architects, and CTOs. You love to share projects you are passionate about with others and exhibit good judgement in identifying opportunities to do so.

Primary Responsibilities
Gain industry recognition and credibility as a regular attendee, panelist and speaker at Dolby and third-party developer conferences, meetups, and hackathons
Create compelling tutorials, white papers and blog posts that are accurate, nuanced, authentic, direct, and kind written communications
Develop and present compelling demos, sample projects, and recorded videos to help drive awareness and adoption of
Identify opportunities for partner collaboration and customer leads
Maintain a strong and credible presence in developer communities and social media channels to be reachable by developers everywhere
Work with internal teams to give feedback on product road maps, market positioning, and developer program activities

Key requirements and attributes for successful applicants include:
Experience working in a developer relations, technology evangelist, or technical executive role
5+ years’ professional experience developing & deploying well designed applications
Wide range of experience with software development, cloud computing, application development tools, and popular programming languages in the broader development ecosystem
Willingness to travel when called upon to work irregular hours in support of global community conferences and events
Established credibility and recognition through speaking engagements and technical publications is preferred
Superior oral and written communications skills for content creation and public speaking
Fluent and capable of engaging cooperatively with software developers to gain respect for knowledge in domain
B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or comparable field
