Community Manager, Hacker Recruitment at HackerOne
HackerOne is seeking an energetic and self-motivated team member to join the Community team. This individual will play a critical role in helping to grow our hacker community.
The ideal candidate is passionate about serving the hacker community, can build rapport quickly with people, and loves building communities. They should have excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of popular community platforms such as Discord, Reddit, Hacker News, keen sense of talent sourcing and rapport building, notable experience with technical audiences, and the ability to quickly adapt in a fast-paced startup environment.
You will play a vital role in connecting the right hacker to the right engagement, providing intellectually stimulating and economically rewarding opportunities for hackers with specialized skills. Passion for our mission and the people we serve is a must.
A little bit about the Community Team: We are a fully distributed group of 6 people, working collaboratively and cross-functionally inside the broader HackerOne organization and working directly with hackers, every day. Working hours are flexible, with preference to align with Pacific Time hours. We communicate heavily in chat via Slack, and spend time on weekly syncs, monthly virtual happy hours and more.
This role will report to the Sr. Director, Global Hacker Community and may be based anywhere in the continental US.
YOUR JOURNEY AT HACKERONE
Identify skills gaps and work with Hacker Operations and Community leaders to develop recruitment plan based upon the needs of HackerOne programs and prospects
Source and manage hacker recruiting focused partnership organizations in collaboration with Community Managers and Events Coordinators
Active in the community, attending hacker events and engaging the community in various online channels
Creation and coordination of recruitment endeavors including oversight of 5-figure budget
Measure and manage hacker talent acquisition costs and lifetime value of hacker talent.
Secondary support for other areas of focus within the Community team
WHO YOU ARE
3 years experience in DevRel or technical community engagement role
Knowledge of brand communications and community development
Passionate about hackers and is a driven learner
Self-starter that thrives in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced environment
